Cubbit works as a distributed data center, where a swarm of individual devices, orchestrated by a coordinator super-node, cooperate to virtualize a cloud storage service.

Our cloud storage service is S3 compatible, meaning that what happens behind the scenes has to be translated into an established standard. The power of simplicity meets the power of the Swarm.

‍As member of the Storage team, you will help to design, develop and maintain performant and scalable products used by our business customers; you'll deep dive into challenging and exciting brainstorming and pair-programming sessions with your teammates and, most importantly, you'll be part of the future of the cloud.

What you’ll need‍

• Medium seniority (3+ years of experience in same role)
• Git (advanced)
• Go (advanced)
• Node.js (advanced)
• Typescript (advanced)
• PostgreSQL
• Experience with cloud services like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
• Cryptography fundamentals
• Knowledge of the AWS S3 protocol

‍Bonus Point

• Past experience in startup and/or similar industry
• Kafka
• Bazel
• Docker
• Kubernetes
• Datadog, OpenTelemetry, application tracing

What you’ll do:

• Work on existing and new products by developing software, of course
• Review other teammates’ code and constructively discuss about changes
• Transform technical requirements into tasks to be worked on

Analyze application’s tracing to spot bottlenecks and issues

• Solid spoken and written English communication skills.
• Obsessive attention to details: you’re meticulous in ensuring that your work is of the highest quality.
• You’re a quick and deep learner: you don’t stop at the surface, but find enjoyment in exploring what lies beneath and becoming a master of your trade.
• You’re also a team player: you understand that the power of the Swarm is more than the sum of its parts.

Location, Commitment & Agreement

Full Smart working is welcome in Cubbit, but our office (and our terrace) - in the center of Bologna - are always available for you.

The type of contract will be defined together with the founders.

We don't choose people based on the contracts we can offer, but we optimize the agreement based on the person we select.
